Websites rot. Somebody has to watch them

Most websites are paid for once and never looked at again. Meta tags rot, links break, the contact form dies without a sound, the CMS falls three years behind on updates until someone unpleasant notices it first, and search engines quietly stop sending people. The owner finds out when a customer says the site claims they are closed.

Kolab Websites puts every site you are responsible for on one board and checks what matters, on a schedule: SEO health, speed, security, backups, updates, uptime and whether the forms actually deliver. Every finding is explained in plain words, with the fix one tap away, and nothing counts as fixed until a re-check passes.

For a business with one site, it is the caretaker the site never had. For an agency with forty, it is the fleet board that replaces memory and goodwill, and the monthly report that shows clients exactly what the retainer buys. Above it all sits the Estate Score: one number for how your whole digital estate is doing.

Built from a fleet we already maintain

Sitweb is in design, and its checks are not guesses. They productise the maintenance discipline NexOps applies to its own fleet of dozens of sites and to the client sites it looks after. Founding agencies and businesses wanted.

  • Checks distilled from running a mixed fleet: static sites, hosted platforms and WordPress among them
  • Uptime probes and synthetic form tests run on the Kolab Monitoring engine that already watches our own products
  • Backup verification follows the platform doctrine: a backup is not real until a restore drill has passed
  • TLS and security-header discipline lifted from the standard every NexOps product ships with

Modules

Everything inside Kolab Websites

Every module is a brick. Start with what hurts most, snap on the rest when you are ready.

Site register

Every site on one list: stack, host, who owns it, what it is for, and who to call when it breaks.

SEO health checks

Titles, meta descriptions, sitemaps, robots rules, broken links, redirect chains and structured data basics, explained in plain words.

Speed watch

Core Web Vitals style timings trended over time, with the slow pages named and the likely cause spelled out.

Security scan

TLS validity, security headers, exposed admin paths and known-vulnerable CMS versions, flagged before someone else finds them.

Update tracker

CMS, plugin and dependency versions on one screen, with an update queue and a tested-then-applied workflow.

Backup verification

Is there a backup, how old is it, did the last restore drill pass. A backup that never restored is a hope, not a backup.

Uptime & forms

Is the site up, and does the contact form actually deliver. Synthetic test enquiries sent through Kolab Monitoring, on schedule.

Content freshness

Pages untouched for a year are listed, and opening hours and prices are flagged for review before a customer trusts them.

Accessibility basics

Alt text, contrast and form labels checked and reported in plain words, so more people can use the site you paid for.

Search visibility

Indexed pages and position trends for the queries that matter to the business, not vanity keywords.

Client reporting

The Estate Score

One number to ask about on Monday morning

The Estate Score is a single figure, 0 to 100, for the health of your whole digital estate, shared across Kolab Websites, Kolab Domains and Kolab Monitoring and shown as a tile in Kolab Launchpad. Websites is its biggest contributor: an expired certificate costs points, a broken contact form costs points, a CMS three versions behind costs points, a homepage slower than four seconds costs points.

  • Click the score: every deduction listed in plain words
  • The fix is one tap away from every deduction
  • Never a black box. Green is earned, not granted

The fleet board

Forty sites without keeping forty in your head

Agencies maintain client sites by memory and goodwill, and memory has no backup. The fleet board replaces both: every site, its stack, its last check and its status on one screen, with the ones that need attention sorted to the top.

  • Client folders keep each estate separate
  • Any stack: static, hosted builders, your CMS
  • Chips turn red the hour something breaks, not at month end

The fix queue

Found, fixing, verified. Nothing slips

Every finding becomes a card that moves from Found to Fixing to Verified, and Verified means a re-check passed, not that somebody said so. Updates travel the same road: tested on a copy first, then applied, then confirmed.

  • Findings arrive with the fix written in plain words
  • Updates go tested-then-applied, never blind
  • The monthly report writes itself from the closed cards

Forms and alerts

The contact form is tested like a customer

A dead contact form is the most expensive silence in business: enquiries simply stop, and nobody knows why. Kolab Monitoring submits a synthetic test enquiry on schedule and checks that it arrived. When it does not, you hear about it on WhatsApp the same hour, and the alert only closes when a re-test passes.

  • Test enquiries are flagged, so they never pollute your inbox
  • WhatsApp alert, acknowledge, fix, re-verify green
  • Uptime probes from the engine that watches our own products

Local by design

Built for how Mauritius uses the web

Most Mauritian SME sites were built once, at a wedding-photography price, and never touched again. The island cannot afford that: in a tourism economy, a site that ranks badly is empty chairs.

Built once, forgotten

The site was a one-off purchase in 2019 and nobody has looked at it since. Sitweb is the caretaker it never had, for less than a lunch out.

Tourism lives on Google

A hotel or restaurant that slips down the results has empty chairs by Thursday. Search visibility is tracked on the queries guests actually type.

Trilingual site checks

Does the French version say what the English one says. Missing FR titles and half-translated pages are flagged, page by page.

Cyclone banner ready

When a warning is declared, can your site show an emergency notice within one minute. Sitweb tests that path before the season does.

Agencies run on goodwill

Local agencies maintain dozens of client sites from memory. Sitweb turns that care into a monthly report the client values and pays for.

Rupees, not dollars

The tools that do this price in dollars per site, per seat. Sitweb bills in rupees per month, with unlimited teammates at every tier.

Boost in Kolab Websites

A light touch here: hygiene is the game, never traffic. Visitor numbers depend on the market; a green fleet depends on you.

All-green streaks

A month with every client site green is a streak the whole team can watch grow, and the screenshot agencies send with the invoice.

Fix-it badges

Clearing a deduction backlog earns a badge per site: forms delivering, updates current, certificate renewed early.

Drill discipline

Restore drills that pass on schedule earn points, because the backup you never restored is the one that fails you.

More about Kolab Boost

In the wild

What it looks like in real businesses

A guesthouse in Grand Baie

The first scan found a booking form that had been failing silently, homepage images taking four seconds, and missing French titles. Working through that list, booking enquiries roughly doubled over the season. No magic: the site finally worked.

A three-person agency, 40 client sites

Replaced memory and goodwill with the fleet board. Maintenance is now a product clients pay for monthly, with a white-label report that shows the work instead of asking clients to take it on faith.

A trading company in Port Louis

Learned its CMS had been compromised months after the fact. Now the security scan flags vulnerable versions the day they are published, and every update moves through the tested-then-applied queue.

Questions

Asked all the time

What exactly is the Estate Score?
One number, 0 to 100, for the health of your whole digital estate, shared across Kolab Websites, Kolab Domains and Kolab Monitoring and shown as a tile in Kolab Launchpad. Websites contributes the biggest share. Click the score and every deduction is listed in plain words with the fix one tap away. It is never a black box: green is earned.
Do you need access to our site or hosting?
The outside checks (SEO, speed, TLS, headers, uptime, forms) need nothing but the address. Update tracking and backup verification go deeper and use credentials you grant and can revoke at any time, held under our DPA 2017 practices.
We did not build our site with you. Does that matter?
Not at all. Sitweb watches any stack: static sites, hosted builders, your CMS. It grew up maintaining a mixed fleet, and a mixed fleet is the normal case, not the exception.
Will the checks slow the site down or fill our inbox?
No. Crawls are polite and rate-limited, and synthetic form tests are flagged so they never count as real enquiries. Your visitors will not notice, and your inbox only hears real news.
Who fixes what the checks find?
Whoever you choose. Every finding comes with the fix in plain words, so your own developer or agency can act on it, and agencies run the fix queue for their clients. If you have nobody, NexOps quotes fixes at fixed rupee prices before touching anything.
When can we use it?
Sitweb is in design. We are looking for founding agencies and businesses to shape the fleet board and the first report formats, and founding customers keep the founding rate. Nothing is charged before general availability.
