Kolab Family · Lafami In build
Run the house together, not from memory.
Kolab Family is the household headquarters: one shared place for the calendar, the school run, the chores, the groceries, the budget and the papers. Everyone in the family sees what they need, from the kids' chore board to the grandparents following the week from another town.
- One shared calendar: school, tuition, football, the doctor
- Chores become points, points become pocket money
- A documents vault that reminds you before the passport expires
- A cyclone kit checklist that resets every season
Made for
Every family has a manager. Give them a system.
In most households one person carries it all: who collects whom today, when the tuition fee is due, where the fridge warranty is, what is missing from the cyclone kit. That person is running a small organisation from memory and scraps of paper. Kolab Family moves the whole job into one shared place, so the load is visible and shareable.
It covers the life of a real household: the family calendar, the school run, a chores rota with points the kids actually care about, shared grocery lists ticked off live in the shop, the budget in rupees, the documents vault, the home inventory with its warranties, and the emergency card you hope never to open.
This is a consumer product, and it behaves like one. The starter tier is free with no card and no clock. Children get age-appropriate views. And the family's data belongs to the family: it exports whenever you ask, in formats you can keep.
Grown from a working home brick
Kolab Family is in build, but its core is not a sketch. The home inventory, warranties and documents engine already exists as a personal life ERP, built and in daily use, and the family patterns come from bricks proven across the Kolab platform.
- Home inventory, warranties and document store built and running (46-life-erp v0)
- Points, streaks and rewards reuse the Kolab Boost engine born in Kolab People Manager
- Pickup coordination links to the parent pickup log proven in Kolab Education
- Shared lists, week views and checklists reuse platform scheduling components

A closer look
How Kolab Family feels day to day
Who drives, who collects, agreed by Sunday night
The weekly puzzle of drops, pickups, tuition and football lives in one shared grid instead of one parent's head. Everyone sees their part, changes ping the family instantly, and the 15:40 panic call disappears.
- Each person's week, colour-coded and shared
- Pickup swaps confirmed with one tap
- Tuition and football slots repeat all term
The rules on the fridge, now digital
The chores board works like the paper list every family already argues about, except it is fair, visible and rewarding. Kids move their own cards, points build up, and parents decide what points are worth, within a budget they set.
- Points and streaks kids can watch grow
- Parents set the rewards budget in rupees
- Adults are on the rota too, fairness included
The family chat that ends in a plan
Families already coordinate on WhatsApp, and then the plan gets lost in the scroll. In Kolab Family the conversation and the plan live together: a swap agreed in chat updates the week, and nobody has to relay anything.
- A confirmed swap updates the calendar itself
- Grandparents follow along without phoning to ask
- Speak Kreol, French or English, it all works
Every paper found in seconds, renewed on time
Passports, NIC cards, birth certificates, insurance policies and warranties live in one vault, photographed once and findable forever. Renewal chips turn amber before expiry, so the discovery never happens at the airport counter.
- Renewal reminders by WhatsApp before anything lapses
- Warranties sit next to their receipts
- Everything exports, the family owns its papers
Local by design
Built for island family life
The rhythms of a Mauritian household are the product's rhythms: cyclone season, the school calendar, Sunday lunch and the CEB bill.
Cyclone ready
A kit checklist, water, candles, batteries, the gas bottle, securing the yard, that resets each season and ticks down as the family prepares.
School and tuition first
Term dates, tuition schedules and exam weeks are first-class in the calendar, not events you retype every January.
The extended family
Grandparents in Mahebourg see the grandkids' week, and the cousin group plans Sunday lunch across three households.
CEB and CWA reminders
Utility bills with due dates and gentle WhatsApp nudges, so the lights and the water stay on.
Three languages
English, French and Kreol Morisien per member, so Dadi reads the calendar as comfortably as the kids do.
Children protected
DPA 2017-grade defaults: children's data guarded, age-appropriate views per member, and the family archive exports whenever you ask.
Boost at home
The points engine that rewards punctuality at work makes chores worth doing at home. Never surveillance: the rules are agreed together, like the list on the fridge, just digital.
Chores become points
Kids earn points on the rota, and parents decide what points buy: pocket money, screen time, or the Sunday ice cream.
Streaks that stick
Homework done and rooms tidied build streaks kids can watch grow, with a kind restart when life happens.
Family challenges
Everyone walks after dinner, everyone drinks more water: shared goals the whole family wins together.
In the wild
What it looks like in real businesses
School, tuition and football lived in one parent's head. Now the week is agreed by Sunday night, and a pickup swap takes one tap instead of a panicked call at 15:40.
They follow the grandkids' week from their own phone, see the prize-giving photos the same evening, and post the Sunday lunch menu on the notice board by Thursday.
After losing documents, they photographed each replacement into the vault as it arrived, with warranties beside their receipts. Renewal reminders now fire before anything lapses again.
