Where do your family's recipes live today?
In heads, in a school exercise book with a broken spine, in a WhatsApp thread nobody can search. Mauritian cooking is Creole, Indian, Chinese and French at one table, and almost none of it is written down anywhere safe. When a cook is gone, the recipes usually go too.
Kolab Recipes is the living family book. Photos, steps, quantities and the cook's own voice, kept by the family that owns them. When someone changes a recipe they fork it: the tweak becomes a named version with its own story, and the lineage stays visible. Tantine Marie's version uses more thyme; cousin Vikash's is vegan. The original never moves.
Everything is private by default and shared by choice: family to family, or into group cookbooks for the office food group, the church bazaar committee, the football team's barbecue crew. Kolab Recipes is in design, and we are looking for founding families and groups to shape it with us.

Kolab Recipes is a greenfield product in design, looking for founding families and groups. It does not start from zero: the parts around the book are already built and running elsewhere in the Kolab family.

Version control for grandma's cooking. Fork any recipe you can see, change what you like, and your version joins the family tree under its own name. The original stays exactly as it was recorded, and everyone can trace who changed what, and why.
