Built around one doctor and one secretary

Most medical software is built for hospitals and sold to everyone else. PractiQ starts from the real unit of private practice in Mauritius: a specialist, a secretary, a consulting room in Curepipe or Quatre Bornes, and twenty years of paper cards in a drawer. The pilot practice it was built inside looks exactly like that.

Easy mode is the heart of it: four screens, big type, no jargon. Today shows the appointment board. Patients finds or creates a card. New Visit records the consultation with fee quick-buttons and a follow-up date. Money shows the day's takings and reconciles the cash box before you lock up. A doctor who dislikes computers can run a full clinic day without help.

Advanced mode adds the depth when you want it: full navigation, visit templates, diagnosis tags, prescriptions, and specialty packs that are configuration, not code. The first pack is OBGYN, with pregnancy episodes, the WHO 8-contact antenatal schedule, risk scoring, and pap smear, HPV and IUD-expiry registers.

The Today board holds the day: who is booked, who has arrived, who is done, who did not come. A walk-in becomes a proper visit in one tap, and no-shows are recorded so the recall engine can chase them kindly tomorrow.

Every rupee receipted, every evening reconciled

Each visit ends with a sequential receipt in rupees, printed or sent to the patient's phone. At closing time, Money shows the day against the cash box, and mistakes are voided with a trace, never deleted. Month-end is a glance, not an argument.

That is who Easy mode is for: four screens, big type, fee buttons instead of forms. In the pilot practice, the doctor runs a full day on a tablet. The secretary carries the detail in Advanced mode.
Where does patient data live?
PractiQ runs on the practice's own devices today, with JSON backups you keep. A cloud option with the same DPA 2017 special-category safeguards is on the roadmap, and it will be opt-in, not forced.
What happens to our paper cards?
They come along. Photograph a card as the patient arrives and it attaches to the new record. Practices migrate the active files in weeks, without a data-entry marathon.
Is my specialty supported?
OBGYN is first, and packs are configuration rather than code: registers, schedules and templates assembled for your specialty. GP chronic-care registers and paediatric EPI vaccines are next on the list; tell us what yours needs.
Can it manage the waiting room queue?
The Today board handles a consulting room comfortably. For busier rooms, the Klinik tier adds ClinicQ: a ticket kiosk with patient intake, so the queue orders itself.
What does the pilot involve?
You use PractiQ in your real practice, we shape it around what your days actually need, and you pay nothing until general availability. Pilot practices lock their launch price for two years.
